Florida State Seminoles football announced Friday afternoon via Twitter that tailgating would not be allowed for the first game of the 2020 season.
Previously, FSU had planned to allow limited tailgating, with isolation and facial coverings encouraged. The Seminoles faithful will not have even that limited opportunity for the home opener against Georgia Tech on Saturday, September 12th.
“Given what is going on throughout the country and the number of COVID cases in Leon County, we have determined that for the safety of all involved we will not allow tailgating for the Georgia Tech game,” said FSU Director of Athletics David Coburn in a statement.
