Former Florida State star Myron Rolle, who became a Rhodes Scholar and enrolled into medical school, will begin a neurosurgery residency at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Rolle played three seasons as free safety for the Seminoles, graduating early in 2008. He deferred an NFL career for a year to earn a master's degree in medical anthropolgy at Oxford.
The 30-year-old Rolle announced the news on his Instagram page.
He was drafted by the Tennesee Titans in 2010, but never played in regular season game in the NFL. In 2013, he returned to Tallahassee and entered FSU's medical school.
