During a turbulent 2024 season, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell displayed the full range of the seven stages of grief — shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing, and acceptance — in press conferences as he finally made changes to his staff. Yet, he never appeared nervous, looking every media member in the eye and refusing to hide, even as he danced around questions and repeated the same lines.
That changed today.
A shockingly anxious Norvell greeted the press before his pre-spring press conference with an on-edge “good morning” instead of his usual shout. After a mumbled reply from the media, a confused Norvell attempted another small talk audible, but it flopped like most of his play calls last season.
