Column: FSU basketball’s problems run deep and it’s up to Michael Alford to fix it

Florida State basketball found rock bottom on Saturday.

After being up by 15 in the second half, holding an eight-point lead with 60 seconds to go, and possessing a 97% chance of winning multiple times, FSU basketball collapsed on the road against Boston College, who went into the game 1-8 in the ACC. It capped off a two-week stretch of brutal losses, horrible effort, and apathy.

More importantly, though, it ripped the band-aid off: The program is broken.

While not wholly his fault (stay with me), the initial slice of blame pie for the wheels falling off the program belongs to head coach Leonard Hamilton.
