Florida State Seminoles backup quarterback Chubba Purdy has entered the transfer portal:
Purdy, who initially chose Florida State after flipping from the Louisville Cardinals in December of 2019, only played in one game this season, completing all five passes for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns late in FSU’s blowout win over UMASS.
This leaves the Seminoles with just three scholarship quarterbacks on the current roster with starter Jordan Travis, and backups McKenzie Milton and Tate Rodemaker.
The staff also holds a commitment from 4-star IMG QB AJ Duffy, so it’s possible Purdy saw the writing on the wall going forward and either wants to get closer to his Arizona home, or just look for a fresh start elsewhere.
