In just one day, toe will meet leather and the 2016 college football season will finally be underway. While the first marquee games won’t get underway until this weekend, plenty of Power Five teams will get on the field for the first time in just hours.
The next three months will determine which 80+ teams will head to bowl games, especially the four schools who will be playing in the third edition of everyone’s favorite mistake, the College Football Playoff. Teams will be competing for spots in their conference standings to get the best bowl possible – and in turn, the best pay day they can.
