Florida State defensive end Brian Burns talked about the “thunder and lightning” combination of Cam Akers and Jacques Patrick. The duo combined for over 200 rushing yards against what was the seventh ranked rushing defense in the country.
The sophomore defensive end said he isn’t surprised by it, noting that the true freshman Akers and junior Patrick have been contributing since fall camp.
The Florida State defense did not allow a first half touchdown for the second consecutive game, keeping the ’Noles close. In fact, it’s 7-3 halftime lead at Duke on Saturday was the largest halftime lead FSU has had all season.
