Although less than an inch of rain fell on Mike Martin field this weekend, the weather became the storyline for Florida State baseball.
Friday's game was significantly affected by lightning, leading to a pause of over an hour and a half. The match started at 6:02 and concluded at 11:17 P.M., five hours and fifteen minutes later. The tarp was brought out, but the weather system north of Tallahassee didn't cause much damage to the city. The pause resulted in removing the starters on each side, and NC State managed to survive a bullpen game for both teams, winning by a single run, 8-7.
