If the nation wasn't aware of NC State starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett before today, they sure are now.
The junior transfer from Florida dazzled all day long against the #1 Florida State Seminoles (3-1), throwing three touchdown passes to lead the N.C. State Wolfpack (5-0) to a massive 31-21 upset.
Brissett (16-of-23, 233 yards) became an instant Internet sensation in the first quarter, shaking off what seemed like the entire Florida State front seven before hitting Johnathan Alson for an amazing 8-yard score.
That touchdown would cap off a huge frame for the Wolfpack, who led 24-7 after 15 minutes.
Florida State, as expected, fought back with two quick TDs in the second quarter to shave the deficit to 24-21 at the half.
The Seminoles would continue that forward momentum in the 3rd quarter with three blink-and-you-missed-them touchdowns, highlighted by
Saturday's program-altering win marks the first time in NC State's history that they have beaten the consensus #1 team in the nation.
