The Florida State Seminoles are in a bit of a slide, losing two of their last three games, and now face their third top-11 team of the season in Miami. Many projecting another loss for FSU, but we know better. Here are three reasons why Florida State will win this weekend:
3) Miami is unproven
There is a lot of hype surrounding the Canes and their 4-0 start, but only one of those wins (Georgia Tech) has come over a Power 5 conference school. Florida State already has a win over Ole Miss, who is currently ranked No. 14, and has been tested in several other games. The Seminoles know what it means to play in a game of this magnitude - Miami doesn't.
2) Dalvin Cook
Cook got off to a slow start this season but has returned to his dominant self over the past two weeks, rushing for 407 yards and five touchdowns while adding 168 receiving yards - in TWO GAMES!! Considering the way he's playing now - plus the way he has scorched Miami in his career (312 rushing yards, five total touchdowns) - all signals another huge night for Cook.
1) Recent history
If you're having trouble remembering the last time Miami was relevant in this series, you're not alone. FSU has won six straight games over the Canes, and head coach Jimbo Fisher has never lost to their rivals. It's something that is in the heads of the players of both teams - the Seminoles come into these games knowing their going to win, while Miami simply hopes they will. That's a HUGE difference.
