Longtime Florida Panthers goaltending prospect Sam Brittain made 25 saves and registered an assist in the Manchester Monarchs 4-0 win over the Brampton Beast. The Monarchs took a two games to one lead in the second round ECHL playoff series.
Brittan is having an impressive postseason with Manchester. He has started all nine games and posted a 6-3 record, with a 2.00 GAA and .931 save percentage.
Thomas Schemitsch also suited up for the Monarchs and drew the secondary assist on Matt Leitner’s first period power-play goal and finished the game with an even rating.
In the Stanley Cup playoffs, Kevin Shattenkirk scored a power-play goal 3:13 into overtime to give the Washington Capitals a huge 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
