Darren Archibald scored 1:19 into overtime to give the Utica Comets a 5-4 win over the visiting Springfield Thunderbirds in Friday night AHL action.
The Comets overcame a three-goal deficit to post the victory.
Springfield has now lost three in a row, but have picked up a point in their last two, after losing a shootout in Hartford on Wednesday.
The Thunderbirds got off to a fast start with defensemen Sena Acolatse and MacKenzie Weegar tallying first period goals.
Acolatse’s third of the year came at the 7:20 mark and was assisted by Michael Downing and Ryan Horvat.
