The Florida Panthers made these roster moves as the regular season approaches

With the 2018-19 season fast approaching, the Florida Panthers’ opening night roster is starting to become clearer.

That’s after the team announced Monday morning that it has cut its roster to 32 players.

Defenseman Riley Stillman and goaltender Sam Montembeault are heading to the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Panthers’ American Hockey League affiliate. Forward Owen Tippett, the team’s 2017 first-round draft pick, is heading back to his Ontario Hockey League club. And forward Mark Letestu has been released.

The Panthers will need to trim the roster to no more than 23 players before the season opener. The Panthers open the season on Oct.
