Recap: Late rally falls short as Panthers fall 4-3 to Rangers

The Florida Panthers made a furious third period push, but ultimately fell short, losing in regulation for the first time by a 4-3 count to the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

New York scored twice in the first period and tacked on two more in the second before the Cats mounted a third period comeback.

Chris Krieder got the game’s first goal at the 7:52 mark when he knocked in a rebound after Spencer Knight made a good save on Mika Zibanejad’s redirection of Artemi Panarin’s centering feed from the right corner.
