Another week, another piece of history for Jaromir Jagr. This time, it was career point number 1851, a number trailing only Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier.
The point came via an assist in Florida’s overtime loss to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday. After falling behind 3-0 and 4-1, the Cats came back with a frenzied pace, tying the game at 4 going into overtime and notching 51 shots in the eventual 5-4 overtime loss.
Jagr’s historic assist made headlines, but it was a pretty good night for his countryman, fellow Czech Jiri Hudler, who notched two goals in his first home game for the Cats.
