Pirates dock for holiday break on five-game winning streak

The Portland Pirates got two third period goals from forward Brett Olson to slip by the Providence Bruins 4-2 at Cross Insurance Arena on Tuesday night. The Pirates have won five straight games to run their record to 15-11-1 and move up to sixth in the AHL's Eastern Conference.

MacKenzie Weegar opened the scoring with unassisted tally just 1:02 into the action before Brandon DeFazio equalized for the visiting P-Bruins at the 12:20 mark. DeFazio's goal was assisted by Chris Breen and Alexander Khokhlachev.

After a scoreless second period, Andrew Cherniwchan bagged his first of the season, from Tommy Cross and Zack Phillips, to put Providence ahead 6:39 into the third.
