The Florida Panthers selected forward Adam Mascherin with their second round pick in the 2016 Entry Draft.
Florida was originally slated to pick 33rd, but moved down five spots after trading defenseman Dmitry Kulikov to the Buffalo Sabres. The Panthers also picked up a third-round pick (89th overall) from the Sabres.
Mascherin scored 35 and added 46 assists in 65 games with the Kitchener Rangers, a 23-goal improvement over his first year in the OHL.
At 5'9", Mascherin doesn't have prototypical height, but he is sturdily built with a high-motor and is blessed with a dangerous shot.
