The Florida Panthers have signed pending unrestricted free agent defenseman Brandon Montour to a three-year contract worth $10. 5 million. General manager Bill Zito cleared the necessary cap space to bring back the 27-year-old Montour by sending Anton Stralman to the Arizona Coyotes on Monday.
With the playoffs approaching, Florida acquired Brandon Montour from the Buffalo Sabres for a third-round pick on April 10, to help offset the loss of the injured Aaron Ekblad. In 12 regular season games with the Cats, Montour scored two goals and added two assists while averaging 20:19 TOI, and appeared in all six of Florida’s postseason games, a first round loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
