The Florida Panthers started the 2016-17 season with high hopes after finishing atop the Atlantic Division last season. The team remained optimistic coming off a first round playoff disappointment in which the New York Islanders sent the team packing early. Following an outstanding regular season after finishing near the top of the league can be tough. In addition to an extensive blue line overhaul, the Panthers complimented their depth by adding some younger, less expensive talent at forward.
A key signing which occurred back in March, and went somewhat under the radar outside of the Panthers fan base, was the addition of Dryden Hunt.
