No, That Was Not Interference on Al Montoya

It’s a popular pastime of Florida Panther fans to berate the referees for being blind, biased, bumbling, or Canadian. It’s as much a part of being a fan as hating Ken Campbell or deflecting attendance jokes. It comes with the territory. And once again, Panther fans directed their vitriol at the NHL Situation Room in Toronto.

Only a couple of minutes into the third period, the Washington Capitals tied the game on a loose puck to Montoya’s left. The Big Cubano couldn’t get his pad over to the post. Jay Beagle sneaked the puck into the net.
