The Florida Panthers basically gave up Brandon Pirri for basically nothing last year.
Tuesday, they brought him back for even less.
Pirri, who had fallen out of favor with some members of the team’s previous management, will be given the opportunity to make the Panthers as general manager Dale Tallon signed him to a professional tryout for training camp.
Florida traded an injured Pirri to Anaheim at the 2016 trade deadline for a sixth-round draft pick.
Pirri had 11 goals and 24 points in 60 games for the Panthers before injuring an ankle.
