The Florida Panthers announced Wednesday that they will honor big names from the franchise’s history during its 25th anniversary season this year.
The recognitions will take place during Saturday home games at the BB&T Center and will be called “Legacy Saturdays.”
The first Legacy Saturday will take place Oct. 13 prior to the Panthers’ game against the Vancouver Canucks, during which they will honor goaltender Roberto Luongo for playing in 1,000 career NHL games.
The Panthers will also remember Bill Torrey, the franchise’s original owner who died May 2. His Legacy Saturday will take place on Nov.
