Last night was military night at the BB&T Center. The Florida Panthers held a short ceremony to remember the brave soldiers who lost their lives in battle. But right after was puck drop, where the Cats would square off against the Sens.
The Panthers started the opening period off strong, pouring pressure in the opposition’s territory. They peppered Mike McKenna early on, but each shot was denied by the 35-year-old netminder.
As the period progressed, so did the Senators’ play, as they found the game’s opening goal. On the power play, Ryan Dzingel was given all sorts of time and room to walk in and bury a shot past Reimer.
