Unlike last game, the Florida Panthers got off to a slow start, hemmed in their end for a good portion of the time. The Sabres were eager to not only start on the right foot but to score the game’s opening goal.
They did just that, courtesy of Jeff Skinner. Off a nice little cycle, Jack Eichel fed an incoming Skinner the puck. Skinner was left with a good portion of the net open and tucked a shot over Roberto Luongo to give the home side the lead.
