SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Tom Rowe announced today that the Panthers have signed forward Derek MacKenzie to a two-year contract extension. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“Derek is a leader on our team and a true professional,” said Rowe. “His experience, work ethic and character make him a respected presence on the ice and throughout our organization.”
The 35-year old MacKenzie recorded 13 points (6-7-13) in 64 games with Florida during the 2015-16 season and recorded one assist in six playoff games. MacKenzie led the team with a 54.
