On Monday, March 30, the Florida Panthers announced that they agreed to terms with defenseman John Ludvig on a three-year, entry-level contract.
Ludvig, who is 19-years-old, spent the past season with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL, posting 17G, 45A, for 62 points in 60 games as the team’s captain. Prior to the 2019-20 campaign, Ludvig only registered 18 points (5G & 13A) in 58 games, seeing his point tally rise drastically in his third season.
Originally drafted by the Panthers in the third round (69th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, the 6’1″, 201lb defenseman holds dual citizenship to both Canada and the Czech Republic, respectively.
