Heading into the trade deadline, no one (including myself) imagined that the Florida Panthers were going to have a busy day. Instead, they were involved in a few minor deals, going about the day in a different kind of way.
The day started off with a two-sided trade with the Carolina Hurricanes. Starting with the first side, the Panthers acquired forward Cliff Pu in exchange for future considerations.
Pu, who’s 20-years-old and from Richmond Hill, Ontario, was originally drafted back in 2016 by the Buffalo Sabres (69th overall). Two seasons later, he was dealt to the Hurricanes as apart of the Jeff Skinner deal.
