Florida Panthers Recall John McFarland from Portland (AHL)

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that forward John McFarland has been recalled from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Pirates.

The 23-year old McFarland has played in 43 games with Portland this season, recording a career-high 14 goals and 22 points. The 6-foot, 211-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario has played in 177 career AHL games, recording 79 points (39-40-79).

McFarland was originally selected by the Panthers in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.

Additionally, the Panthers announced Corban Knight has been assigned to Portland.
