Florida Panthers: Jim Montgomery Front-Runner For Coaching Position

The Florida Panthers fired interim coach Tom Rowe after a disappointing 2016-17 season. What kind of coach does the team need to have a winning season?

The Panthers need a coach with a championship pedigree, experience with younger players, and who motivates the team. All of these characteristics can be found in Jim Montgomery.

Montgomery has coached the Pioneers for four years, making an NCAA tournament appearance each year. Most recently, his Denver Pioneers won the NCAA National Championship. Montgomery also has experience in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, leading them to the Clark Cup during the 2010-11 season.
