On Monday, June. 8, the Florida Panthers agreed to terms with defenseman Jake Massie on a two-year, entry-level contract.
Massie, 22, spent the previous season with the University of Vermont (NCAA), taking part in 30 games and recording 4G, 5A, for 9 points total.
Massie played two seasons prior with Vermont as well, tallying 7 points each in 2017-18 (2G & 5A) and 2016-17 (7A). He was originally drafted in the sixth round (156th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes.
At 6’1, 179 lbs, Massie is known as a defensive defenseman who loves to play the body.
