SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that Florida Panthers Alumni Association has awarded $7,500 in new youth hockey scholarships for the Fall youth hockey travel season, supporting nine local travel hockey players in six associations. Celebrating their 20-year history as an association, the Panthers Alumni have donated well over $300,000 to youth hockey players and programs who could not afford the ice time and equipment required to otherwise play the game.
The awardees come from travel and high school programs around the South Florida area and were granted based on academic achievement, financial need and merit and community involvement, rather than their skills or talent on the ice.
