Boughner, nicknamed “the boogieman” back in his days on the ice was previously the head coach, president and CEO of the Windsor Spitfires. There he lead the team to back to back Memorial Cups and won the Brian Kilrea coach of the year award twice.
In his tenure he coached players like Taylor Hall, Matt Duchene, Cam Fowler, Ryan Ellis and Adam Henrique just to name a few. However, he’d go on to leave the team in 2010 to take an assistant job with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
