As the calendar ever so slowly creeps towards the start of the 2016-17 season, we thought it would be a good time to take a look what’s in the Florida Panthers prospect cupboard. For this series we’ve imposed an age limit so we will be looking, mostly, at the Cats’ NCAA and junior prospects, while leaving out the players who already have AHL experience or are old enough to be pretty well-seasoned. The Panthers had exactly twenty-one prospects who fit the bill, making the title of this series work out rather nicely. Let’s get started.
#21 - Benjamin Finkelstein - defenseman - Kimball Union Academy
Highest rank: 19 Lowest rank: 21
The Panthers drafted the 5’,9” Finkelstein in the seventh round (195th overall) of the 2016 Entry Draft after the young defender amassed impressive totals of 24 goals and 70 points in 35 games for New Hampshire prep school Kimball Union Academy.
