The Portland Pirates picked up a point, but dropped their second straight game Friday night, falling 2-1 in overtime to the Rochester Americans in front of a crowd of 7,154 at Blue Cross Arena.
After a scoreless first period, Rochester's Dan Catenacci opened the scoring, from Jason Akeson and Chad Ruhwedel, at the 2:49 mark of the second.
Corban Knight, recently back from the Florida Panthers, notched his second of the season to even the game at 16:54 of the middle frame. Knight's goal was set up by veteran Rob Schremp and John McFarland.
