SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers forwards Aleksander Barkov and Jussi Jokinen will represent Team Finland at the 2016 IIHF World Men’s Ice Hockey Championship in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia from May 6-22.
The 20-year old Barkov played in 66 games this season with Florida recording a career-high 28 goals and 59 points. The 6-foot-3, 213-pound native of Tampere, Finland played in six Stanley Cup Playoff games recording three points (2-1-3). Barkov has recorded 119 points (52-67-119) in 191 career NHL games with the Panthers.
Barkov won a bronze medal with Finland at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games and recorded seven points (4-3-7) in eight 2015 World Championship games.
