MIAMI – The FIU women's tennis team dominated play in its opening matches at the FIU Invitational on Friday at the FIU Tennis facility.
The Panthers swept all six singles matches against FAU and posted three victories over Purdue in doubles competition.
Senior Kamila Umarova opened the winning run with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over FAU's Martina Kudelova. Umarova then paired up with Andjela Skrobonja to post a 6-1 win in doubles action over Purdue's Tara Milic and Juana Larranaga.
Skrobonja was also strong in singles play, registering a 6-1, 6-2 victory in straight sets against FAU's Amber McGinnis.
