Dallas, Texas – Two Panthers in Mya Koné and Tanajah Hayes were honored to the 2024-25 CUSA Women's Basketball Preseason Team, with Koné being chosen as the CUSA Preseason Player of the year, conference officials announced Thursday afternoon.
Junior Mya Koné burst onto the scene in the 2023-24 season, leading the team in points per game with 11.4, scoring a career-high 28 points against Jacksonville State last season, going 6-9 from beyond the arc in the game. Also a prolific rebounder, the forward led FIU in boards, securing 8.1 rebounds per game during last year's campaign, good for fifth in CUSA.
