MIAMI — FIU's track and field program kicked off its outdoor season on Friday and Saturday, taking part in the Hurricane Invitational at Miami's Track and Field Complex.
The Panthers returned to action, opening their outdoor slate after the women's team's history-making performance at the 2025 Indoor CUSA Championships. FIU racked up a slew of personal-bests, highlighted by Michaelle Valentin's school and Haitian-national record in the hammer throw. In total, eight different Panthers racked up personal bests in at least one event.
Valentin's throw of 67.51 meters in the hammer throw set a new FIU record and is the current top throw in the NCAA.
