FORT MYERS, Fla. – FIU freshmen Valentina Gilly, Agueda Cortilla-Mas and Carolina Andrade-Guzman all sit in the Top 20 as the Panthers shot 18-over 308 putting them eighth after day one of the Conference USA Championships, held at the Verandah Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida. The championship is being played on The Old Orange course, set up for par 72 and 6,194 yards this week.
Gilly, Cortilla-Mas and Andrade-Guzman all shot 4-over 76 – two strokes away from being in the top 10. Western Kentucky's Georgina Blackman low-round of 3-under 69 was the best of the day.
