Four FIU pitchers combined to strike out 15 batters as the Panthers shut out Grambling, 3-0, Friday night at the FIU ballpark.
The Panthers evened their record at 2-2. The Tigers fell to 3-3.
Tyler Myrick (1-0) started for FIU. The sophomore right-hander pitched five scoreless innings, allowed one hit and struck out seven.
Freshman Christian Santana followed with 2 1/3 shutout frames and struck out four. Sophomore Gio Soto struck out three over 1 1/3 innings and freshman Will Saxton struck out the final batter to record his first save.
