MIAMI — FIU's women's tennis program had its first weekend of competition in 2025 from Friday-Sunday, hosting the FIU Invitational at its PayCargo Tennis Complex.
The Panthers, Conference USA's (CUSA) defending back-to-back Champions, hosted competitors from Missouri, Houston, DePaul and Florida Atlantic for individual competition over the weekend. FIU's squad performed well in its final tune-up for the 2025 dual season, of which begins on Saturday, Jan. 18 in Coral Gables, facing off with Miami.
Valery Gynina had an excellent three days to lead the Panthers, garnering victories in all three of her singles and doubles matches, posting a 6-0 record.
