AUSTIN (June 8, 2019) - Gabrielle Rains earned Second-Team All-American honors in her first appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, taking 13th in the discus throw Saturday evening in Austin, while Clarissa Cutliff's decorated career as an FIU Panther came to a conclusion in the high jump.
Rains, a junior, threw 54.43m in the discus, the second best mark of her career. In qualifying for nationals, Rains threw her personal best of 56.90m at the NCAA East Preliminaries.
The second-team honors cap a season that began with injury for Rains, rendering her unable to compete the entire indoor season.
