NAROBI, Kenya (August 19, 2021) - FIU incoming sophomore Rhema Otabor placed fourth in the javelin and incoming freshman Atene Slizeviciute earned a sixth place finish in the heptathlon at the U-20 World Championships.
Otabor, representing the Bahamas, set a new U-20 Bahamaian record with a throw of 55.08m on her second attempt - a new personal best.
Slizeviciute, representing Lithuania - impressed in the Heptathlon, winnning the 800m in a time of 2:17, and tying for first in the high jump with a leap of 1.78m.
Otabor is coming off an NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance in the javelin, with Slizeviciute gets set to add to a talented multis group for the Panthers.
