MIAMI (Dec. 20, 2020) – The FIU women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought Sunday matinee to in-state foe Florida Gulf Coast by a score of 86-68.
FIU forward shined on Sunday afternoon with 17 points and 13 rebounds for her second double-double of the young season. and scored 16 and 11 respectively, to join Ekpiteta in double figures. led all Panthers with seven assists.
The Panthers hung tight with FGCU for most of the game and even held a 16-14 advantage after the first period. The Eagles opened the final frame on a 15-2 run that proved to be the ultimate turning point however, as FGCU earned the 86-68 victory.
