MIAMI (August 16, 2021) - A pair of FIU track and field athletes will represent the Panthers on the international stage at the U-20 World Championships, beginning Wednesday in Nairobi, Kenya.
Incoming sophomore Rhema Otabor, who qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships this past season in the javelin, will compete, along with incoming freshman Atene Slizeviciute - who will take part in the heptathlon.
"It's exciting to see two of our own compete on this stage," said FIU head coach Ryan Heberling. "Rhema and Atene are two very talented athletes, and they will take many vaulable things from this experience moving forward.
