- The No. 11-ranked FIU beach volleyball team dropped its first match of the 2018 season on Friday during the first day of competition at the Hampton Inn Capital-University Invitational, hosted by Florida State University in Tallahassee. The Panthers, in their only match of the afternoon, dropped a tight 3-2 decision to the College of Charleston.
