JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Dec. 5, 2020) – For the first time in a full calendar year, the FIU women's basketball team earned a road win, as Kyla Nelson scored a career-high 23 points and the Panthers downed the Jacksonville Dolphins by a score of 64-59.
Saturday's game marked the first victory of the Jesyka Burks-Wiley era at FIU, as the first-year head coach officially capped her opening road trip with the Panthers.
With the win, FIU pulls even to 1-1 on the year while Jacksonville falls to 0-3.
Nelson led all players with 23 points going 7-10 from three-point range and a perfect 2-2 from the free throw line.
