Miami, Fla. – FIU women's soccer is moving on to its first-ever Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship match as they defeated Middle Tennessee 2-0 in the semifinals on Friday night. The Panthers will play the Liberty Flames at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 10 for a chance at an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
FIU played lockdown defense for the entire 90 minutes, allowing a season-low one shot and one shot on goal in the match.
The Panthers snatched the lead in the 24th minute when senior Noemi Paquin fed a corner kick into the box, which was headed by fellow senior Delinda Sehlin, and promptly headed again by junior Catherine Rapp to put FIU up 1-0.
