Steven Conille is not your typical college football player. The 29-year old defensive lineman spent eight years in the United States Marine Corps before beginning his collegiate football career.
Upon arrival in Parris Island, S.C., for boot camp with the U.S. Marines, Conille immediately understood the challenges he would face as well as the characteristics required to be successful.
"Boot camp was all about listening and doing the right thing to avoid getting additional physical challenges, but the mental challenges far exceeded the physical," Conille said.
