FIU right-hander Michael Agis was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 36th round of the 2017 MLB Draft late Wednesday afternoon.
Agis, who was a key member of the Panthers' bullpen last season, was 1-3 with a 5.26 ERA and was second on the team with three saves. The senior from San Antonio made 17 appearances, including two starts in 2017. Agis struck out 49 batters in 39 1/3 innings pitched.
Agis's best outing of the season came against Miami on April 26 in the final game of the City Series. Agis pitched 4 1/3 shutout relief innings and struck out six to garner the victory as the Panthers rallied in the ninth inning to defeat the Hurricanes, 5-4, and win the City Series.
